I may summarize the interaction between multiple Cells in LTE and between LTE and other technology as shown in the following illustration. This may be oversimplified the process but I think it can give you some intuitive understanding about the multi cell, multi RAT interaction between LTE and other technology. (But it would take pretty long time and effort to understand the full detailseven for a single arrow.)
